Neighborhood Legal Services extends our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the victims of the tragedy at TOPS on Jefferson Avenue. When this supermarket opened almost 20 years ago, it was a long overdue acknowledgement that ALL communities have a right to basic services. The siting of TOPS on Jefferson Avenue, just south of East Utica Street, spurred further neighborhood development, enhancing services to the community for many years.
The hatred exhibited by yesterday’s brutal assault on Buffalo residents and the East Side community cannot and will not be tolerated in WNY. Neighborhood Legal Services will be reaching out to East Side community leaders to determine how we can support our client community in the aftermath of this awful event.
