Low-income tenants who owe rent can apply for funding to get caught up. A partnership between Erie County and the City of Buffalo to provide rental and mortgage assistance to at-risk Erie County residents who have been economically impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic has $10 million to cover up to five months of rent or mortgage payments up to $3,500 for eligible households. This “use or lose” money may be reallocated to other COVID-19 related programs if renters and homeowners don’t take advantage of it. Contact 211 WNY for more information.
